When using Stream, whether to record a Teams meeting or when uploading a video manually, it is important to check the viewing permissions on the video file. By default, in most organizations, videos are shared with the entire organization unless your IT team changes the default. This means that your recordings may end up being visible by other people who are part of your organization but outside of your primary team.
Why does this happen? By default, all stream videos are configured to be available to the whole company. This setting can be changed as per this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/default-video-permissions . If your IT team has not changed these permissions, you can do so manually for each file by following these steps:
1) Go to your office account
2) Launch Stream
3) Select the type of content you are looking for (video, meeting)
4) click on the 'Update Video details' option
5) Make sure you untick the 'Allow everyone' checkbox.
6) You can then allow specific people or groups to see the video by using the 'Share with' options.
